Bar Tour Transportation Tips
The registration booth the day of the event will be located at The Taphouse Grill (931 W 21st St). Parking is available at any of the parking lots listed on destinationGhent.com (also shown on their Map of Ghent). Street parking may also be available in certain areas around the neighborhood. We do highly recommend that you carpool if traveling by car.
All of the crawl locations are situated within very short walking distance of each other, with no more than a few blocks between the furthest spaced ones. The bar tour map that you receive in your registration bag will help guide you to each place (in whatever order you choose). But for those of you who like to keep things cool and fresh and interesting, What Happens On The Bus is graciously providing a shuttle bus at the event to move participants quickly between stops and help you maximize your time inside the bars instead of walking between them. But wait... this is way more than just a shuttle bus - it's a party bus complete with TVs, disco lights, a fog machine, and music! The bus will run a continuous loop to various stops along the tour during the event. The planned bus route and stops will be printed on the bar tour map all participants receive in their registration bags.
Note: A small one-time donation of $1.00 is requested from all participants who ride the party bus. A portion of this donation will go towards the tip for our gracious driver with the remainder going to charity.
Please keep in mind that all participants must heed the State of Virginia's open container law - do not carry any alcoholic beverages with you off the premises of the establishments you are visiting. Citations are not covered with your registration fee! And after the event and our big ending tent party at Plaza del Sol, please GET HOME SAFELY! Our popular pub crawls cannot continue to happen if participants are not responsible. If you do not have a designated driver, please find one or let us know and we will work to make arrangements for you.
